What is Sandblasting?

Sandblasting is using an abrasive medium and high-pressure air to remove unwanted materials from surfaces. It can also be used to create artistic and lasting etchings in wood, glass and some other materials.

What kind of materials are best for sandblasting?

Because a trained sandblasting technician can adjust the air pressure and choose different mediums, virtually any surface can be sandblasted. The most common are brick, stucco, wood, concrete, asphalt, iron, steel and fiberglass.

What type of sand is best for sandblasting?

Sandblasting is a general term that describes a process, but it doesn’t just use sand. While some forms of sand can be used, like while silica sand, other medium for sandblasting includes glass beads, aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.
